This morning one of our Student Council members did our morning announcements (a Monday tradition!) and shared her own words about how we can Build Together:
“Working together and having fun.”
Her reminder is a perfect connection to Constitution Month—just as our nation was built on collaboration and shared ideas, we continue to grow stronger when we listen, learn, and build together.

This September, we’re celebrating the foundation of our freedoms and the values that unite us. Here’s Chip the Buffalo standing proud in front of the Liberty Wall and the U.S. Constitution.
Let’s make this month one of learning, respect, and gratitude for the principles that guide our country.

A big thank you to our amazing students for doing their part to earn Buffalo Bucks by showing respect, responsibility, and kindness. And thank you to the adults who make sure Buffalo Bucks get passed out—your effort keeps our Stampede strong!

If you (or someone you know) are available and willing to help, please contact the principal (rvannatter@dsdmail.net) or our office (801-402-8400) for details on how to get started. Even being available occasionally would make a meaningful impact.
Thank you for supporting our students and school community!

While reviewing safe school rules, we talked about how play fighting and wrestling aren’t okay at school. One kindergartener quickly added with a big smile:
“But it’s still okay to wrestle with your dad!”
We love these little reminders of the fun and special connections our students share with their families. #WordsFromTheHerd #BuildingTogether #BuffaloPoint

Mr. Green, Administrative Intern, was invited to Mrs. Olsen’s class to read with students. We appreciate opportunities like this where school leaders can share the joy of reading and support our Buffalo Point learners!

Each week we’ll share something to brighten your day—whether it’s exciting school news, interesting tidbits, or just something lighthearted and fun to kick off the weekend.
We’re starting off with a favorite around here—our principal and Chip the Buffalo, our school mascot named by students last year!
Follow along every Friday for a little extra joy to end the week!

Each week we’ll take a moment to celebrate and appreciate the people and groups who make a difference at Buffalo Point. For our very first Thank You Thursday, we’re giving a huge shoutout to our amazing sponsors! Thanks to their generosity, every student received a brand-new school shirt.
Thank you Dreamworks Builders, Summit Counseling and Psychological Services, Infinite Swag, Elevated Auto Detailing, Sacre Bluu Salon, Great Escape Room, Amplify Performance Choir, and Party Scene Rentals. We love seeing all our little buffaloes in their school shirts.

Each week we’ll share voices from our Buffalo Point community—students, staff, and families—highlighting their thoughts, experiences, and celebrations. Stay tuned every Wednesday to hear the Herd’s words and see what makes our school such a special place!
A kindergartener has stuff on his hands. A little girl next to him offered a napkin. He said, "That's okay, I can use my shirt."
The hallway procedure for first graders is "Hand on a hip, finger on the lip." They look so great strutting down the hall nice and quiet.

Each week we’ll spotlight the great work happening in our classrooms, share strategies that make learning come alive, and celebrate the incredible teachers who make it possible. Stay tuned every Tuesday for inspiration, tips, and a closer look at teaching and learning at Buffalo Point!
For our first Teaching Tuesday post, check out Sra. Mora as she introduces "enfrente" and "detrás" to her first graders.

Community Council Elections – Parent Voting Opportunity
We have two open parent positions on the Buffalo Point Elementary Community Council for the upcoming school year. Elections will be held on Wednesday, September 3, and parents may vote at the school between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
